There are words that cannot be truly translated.
Not because they are hard to explain, but because they hold entire ways of living, worldviews, and shared memories within them.

Words that don’t just describe, they feel.
They don’t define concepts, they connect.

In this journey, I’ll take you through five places of the human heart.
Five rare and precious words, born to cross borders and touch souls.

Words from the World

Today we launch the new series:
“5 Words from the World. Crossing borders. Touching souls.”

A small atlas of humanity, for those who have the courage to feel and the desire to understand.

1. ICHIGO ICHIE – japanese

“One time, one meeting.”
Every moment is unrepeatable, every encounter a unique miracle.
Ichigo Ichie invites us to live fully in the present, to recognize the value of each moment and each person as a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
A reminder to find beauty in small things and meaning in every encounter — because we only live once.

2. UBUNTU – zulu

“I am because we are.”
No one exists alone.
We are all part of a shared fabric, bound by a common destiny.
Ubuntu is more than a word — it’s a philosophy of life.
It means belonging, empathy, and mutual responsibility.
To live Ubuntu is to recognize the other as part of oneself and to choose, every day, to build bridges instead of walls.

3. GÖGOTTA – swedish

“The art of waking up at dawn to listen to the birds and feel nature.”
When the world is silent and the morning light gently touches everything,
Gögotta becomes a quiet ritual, rising early to listen, to receive, to feel.
It is a suspended moment, where the breath of nature merges with that of the soul.
An invitation to gratitude and wonder that reconnects us with ourselves and the world.

4. AMEDZRO – ewe

“Stranger, visitor.”
All people, even those we do not know, belong to the same humanity.
Amedzro unites where the word “stranger” divides, expressing the deep human desire to know and welcome others with respect.

5. MAMIHLAPINATAPAI – yahgan

“A shared look between two people, full of meaning, beyond words.”
It’s that moment of silent understanding when both wish to begin something, but neither dares to take the first step.
A suspended instant of connection, anticipation, and hesitation — where eyes and hearts speak without words.
Mamihlapinatapai reveals the delicate complexity of human connection: a shared desire and a tender uncertainty that weave an invisible yet powerful bond.

And you, which word makes you feel something deep inside?
Do you know other unique, special words?
Share them, and let’s continue this journey together!
